Dear Citizens of Dallas County,
I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity and honor to serve you as the District Judge of Criminal District Court #3. I took office in Jan. 2009 and since that time, I have presided over thousands of guilty pleas and trials before the court. I have tried numerous felony jury trials—including murders, capital murders, aggravated sexual assaults and injuries to children, to name a few. My court has been featured on the “First 48” TV show and I have had the honor of releasing a man from prison after 24 years for a wrongful conviction. My staff and I have consistently attempted to create an environment that is efficient, just, and fair to all litigants, victims, and defendants.
It has been both an exciting and challenging time for me. I have enjoyed this opportunity, but I am still in the process of fulfilling the dream of a Youthful Offender program that address adults ages17-21. If successful, it will be the first of its kind in the country. Therefore, I continue to covet your support in prayers, votes, and contributions. Please remember Grace for the Race in 2012.
Sincerely,
Judge Gracie Lewis
